Fall Lovin'

SO...it's already October 20th, what? I'm not really liking how fast time is going by. I was talking with a friend the other day who is a year younger than I am and when we were discussing what we wanted to do out of school I said..."Well, I guess I should figure it out...I'm graduating in a year" and I literally got so freaked out because a year is nothing. This year has been nothing short of incredible and I feel that's why it's going by so fast. My parents are in Texas right now visiting one another and seeing the progress of the house. They sent me some pictures last night and it's coming along great. It's taking a little longer than expected so I won't be visiting until Christmas break. I was a little bummed at first but I'm thankful that I get one more solid trip back to Fredericksburg for Thanksgiving.

My cousin Brian, the oldest of cousins on my mom's side, got married earlier this month! It was in the Outer Banks and was right on the beach. That weekend was so perfect; the weather was absolutely beautiful and the love that surrounded us all as a family was so strong and contagious. I got to spend some quality time with my Mom, Dad, and Sister, which is quite rare because we're all in different places regularly.

My little brother from BBBS is so perfect! Him and I have really bonded over the last 4 weeks of visiting with one another. He's so curious and interested in what I have to say. He takes me into such consideration with the activities we do. When we pick out boardgames he'll say "Lets play Disney monopoly this time since you're a girl"....how adorable is that? He is such a happy and giggly young boy. When I sit in the cafeteria with him and his friends they all are so confused as to why this adult size girl is sitting with him. I think they like having the company though, I've been assigned to the "packet opener" because they literally just hand me food and say "open, please"...it's so adorable.

XDA is going really well too. I have fallen in love with Special O' and I'm so sad that Volleyball ends in 2 weeks. Luckily I'll still have bowling but Volleyball was just so much more one-on-one and I'll definitely miss that. My little girls that Amanda and I have for lunch buddies are such a hoot! They are so different from one another but all have such funny personalities. We have our first informal meeting for future pledges tomorrow! I'm so excited to see who decides to come out to hear more about us. Our homecoming candidate was Raquel (the most beautiful girl in the world). She didn't win but she looked incredible out on the field and I had so much fun campaigning with her and other girl's during the week. Last night we had sisterhood retreat at Sinkland Farms and it was so fun. We all went on a hay ride, got pumpkins, did a corn maze (that I successfully led us through, which is a big deal because my sense of direction is AWFUL), had a bonfire, and just hung out.

School is going pretty well too. My classes aren't too hard. Course request for next semester is already out, which is freaky. I'm meeting with my adviser next week to figure out the rest of my semesters here. I'm doing the Child & Adolescent track for HD and I think I've decided I want to teach Elementary Education so I need to figure out what specific courses I need for that. I applied to go on a study abroad trip to Malawi, Africa to teach a class for a month in the summer. I literally daydream about it daily and I can't wait to hear back. I applied with my best friend Liz and if we both got to go on a trip like this together my life would seriously be made. SERIOUSLY MADE.

Well, that's all for now...I hope to not go this long without updating again.

Much love! xoxoxo
